This course on the oil and gas sector of India provides a comprehensive insight with respect to investment and regulatory aspects. It lays out the key governing bodies, regulatory framework, various organizations within the sector and examines the roles that each of these perform, major policy initiatives of the GoI to give boost to hydrocarbon and petroleum sector, problems faced by the earlier policy (NELP) and how the new Policy can overcome them. Further, it provides an understanding of the changes brought in by HELP, the transition from Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) to Revenue Sharing Contracts (RSCs) and how it will eliminate the areas of disputes in contracts.
