A Civil Suit is a court- based process through which a person ‘A’ can seek to hold another person ‘B’, liable for some kind of wrong, but no criminal activity is alleged.
This course introduces the learners to the detailed procedure for the determination of the disputes of a civil nature, allows the learner to analyse the dispute of a civil nature, as well as the jurisdiction of the Courts, while filing the same, and to draft a plaint / written statement by tendering proper pleadings.
It acquaints the learner with the remedies available after the initiation of civil proceedings; different stages of a civil suit, thereby enhancing the knowledge pertaining to the formal adjudication in the courts. The course sketches the intricacies involved in “giving effect” to the outcome of a case, filing of an appeal or review or a revision and also summary trial of a civil suit.
Upon completion of this course, the learner would be well-versed with the procedural aspects for filing of the suits and dealing with the same before the appropriate Civil Courts. They will be able to apply their knowledge while assessing the civil dispute amongst the parties. This is germane for career progression as a civil lawyer facilitating the grant of relief to a civil litigant.

EVALUATION METHOD
Progress will be tested by way of quizzes and assignments at the end of each Module. Learners must attempt the exam at the end of the course and secure at least 50% marks to obtain course certificate.
